A recent issue of the Freeholder included "The Early Settlement of Oyster Bay" by Town Historian John E. Hammond. Drawing on original Dutch and English sources, Mr. Hammond's research "will necessitate the rewriting of every book on Long Island history," according to OBHS Director Kuehhas. That and other popular back issues of the Freeholder, along with maps and books, like John Hammond's new Oyster Bay: Images of America, are available for online purchase in our bookstore.
Oyster Bay Historical Society HomepageMasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express donations and payments to the Oyster Bay Historical Society are processed through PayPal to OBHS advisor Louis J. Bruno and do not require a PayPal account.
