IN THE NEWS: Press coverage of OBHS activities
The Society often finds itself "in the news" as it goes about "making Oyster Bay history come alive". The Society is not just another "pretty resource", but an active participant in shaping the future of Oyster Bay through interpretation, restoration, preservation and education. Our Local Legacies Project on oystering is one example of the kind of historical activism that contributes to the growth of our town and puts us in the news. Our exploration of the Italian immigrant experience is another. This section of our website provides links to current newspaper and magazine articles about the work of the Historical Society and reprints -- with thanks to the copyright holders -- those not otherwise available online. ![]() Oyster Bay Historical Society Director Tom Kuehhas and Board President Maureen Monck, Ph.D. enjoying their presentation at the group's annual meeting.
