The Art of Oyster Bay -- Robin Diamond | |
|
Robin worked as a fashion illustrator for eleven years; her illustrations have appeared in Glamour Magazine, Self, and the J. Peterman Co. and Calvin Klein catalogues. In addition she has created embroidery designs for Ralph Lauren, Lands' End, Banana Republic, The Gap, Victoria Magazine, American Eagle, and Osh Kosh B'Gosh. Robin prefers to work in watercolor. As inspiration, she cites her love of children and her years of interest in antique clothing and accessories, as well as trips to museums to study the art of the masters. Children; animals; and antique handbags, clothing, and jewelry are constants in her work. "I feel it is extremely important to conserve the archival collection of the Oyster Bay Historical Society and anything I can do to help, I will!"
