My dad never taught me how to draw. I guess it was in my blood.
-- Robin Diamond

Robin DiamondRobin I. Diamond has been drawing and painting since the age of three. Her father was an art teacher who brought home paper and paints, so she was always busy! She remembers, "My dad never taught me how to draw. I guess it was in my blood!"

Robin worked as a fashion illustrator for eleven years; her illustrations have appeared in Glamour Magazine, Self, and the J. Peterman Co. and Calvin Klein catalogues. In addition she has created embroidery designs for Ralph Lauren, Lands' End, Banana Republic, The Gap, Victoria Magazine, American Eagle, and Osh Kosh B'Gosh.

Robin prefers to work in watercolor. As inspiration, she cites her love of children and her years of interest in antique clothing and accessories, as well as trips to museums to study the art of the masters. Children; animals; and antique handbags, clothing, and jewelry are constants in her work.

"I feel it is extremely important to conserve the archival collection of the Oyster Bay Historical Society and anything I can do to help, I will!"
