The Art of Oyster Bay -- Patricia Pepe-Clark | |
|
Patricia's work examines the idea of what lies beyond. Throughout her career, fine art has always taken the lead as an inspiration to her design style. She had a compelling reason to get involved in the Society's exhibition: "My husband's uncle (after whom he was named), Tom Clark has been very involved in the Town of Oyster Bay [government] for years, so I thought it would be fun to participate [in this project] and add to the family 'legacy.' The work [in the exhibition] is a very detailed portrait of the residence (at one time) of Mortimer L. Schiff. It is one of the original Gold Coast mansions. As a decorative accessory designer, interior and exterior architectural detail has always interested me. Painting this portrait fit perfectly with my interests and gave me an opportunity to personally touch on a small part of history." Patricia has a degree in Fine Arts specializing in painting from Nassau Community College, a Bachelors Degree in Computer Graphics from the New York Institute in Technology, studied Jewelry Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology and is currently working on a Master of Fine Arts specializing in Painting and Mixed Media at Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus. Her exhibitions include Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale NY, Deepwells Designer Showcase in St. James NY, Gallery of Design and Innovation in New York City, Fire House Art Gallery in Uniondale, NY. She has received Awards in: Acrylics on Canvas from the Islip Art League, Innovative Design from Watch and Clock Review and Executive Jeweler Publications, Citra Pearl and Swatch Watch Designer showcases, Drambuii Designers competition from Fashion Institute of Technology, the Computer Graphics award from New York Institute of Technology, and Acrylic Painting from Nassau Community College.
