The eighteenth century garden at the Earle-Wightman House was restored by the North Country Garden Club and is maintained by their members. Like many gardens of the period, it features not only ornamental plantings, but herbs used for medicinal purposes, cooking, or for their fragrance. A visit to the Earle-Wightman House and its old-fashioned garden transports one back in time and permits the visitor a glance at what life in the Town of Oyster Bay may have been like 250 years ago. (The photo of our Eighteenth Century Garden was taken by James Bleecker.) Home > Museum > 18th Century Garden
